onitsuka tiger mexico 66 v40

::calgary.alberta.canada.temp.-3ºC.humidity.58%.a.few.clouds::

brand new kicks! got these cats in the mailbox today. the v40 are a limited edition sneaker designed by onitsuka (asics) tiger to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the mexico 66 running shoe. the classic style of the 66's were developed in advance of the 1968 mexico olympics. it was at this time that the patented asics stripes were born, the definitive mark of a tiger shoe. arriving with a choice of gold or white laces and a pair of made in japan mexico 66 patterned terry cloth wrist-sweatbands. why these sweatbands are important to mention, i don't really know.

my prayers and condolences go out to the family and relatives of a university schoolmate of mine that passed away suddenly at the end of october. the funeral today was a difficult one as accepting the death of any individual under the age of thirty has significant lasting effects. someone once told me that the worst thing about your death day is that it always starts out like a normal day.

"dum loquimur, fugerit invida aetas: carpe diem quam minimum credula postero." [even as we speak, envious time is running away from us. seize the day, and trust as little as possible in the future.]

may god be with you joseph.
